Why “Triangle” Safety Consulting?

Welcome to TSC’s first blog post!

Why the name “Triangle” Safety Consulting?

The Triangle Shirtwaist Fire occurred in 1911 in New York. That day, a fire broke out in the factory. As employees (mostly immigrant women) tried to escape, the doors to stairwells and exits were locked.

There was only 1 fire escape and it broke when employees tried to flee. 146 people died that day from smoke inhalation or jumping from the building to their death. This tragic event led to the improvement of factory safety standards.
